And So We Go On Living
Thank you to Bull City Press, a small press I have long admired, for selecting my chapbook for publication!
This chapbook came out of my time teaching with Blue Stoop, where a class of 14 Philly-based poets met weekly with the goal of writing 30 poems in 30 days. Some of the poems I wrote during that month are in this chapbook, along with poems I revised as part of my writing process. The chapbook shape came to me during that class, when I was wondering (and sometimes struggling with) how to keep going in poetry and prose, how we as humans keep going in general. I realized I had a poem for each month of the year and that maybe, in the same way we used mentor poems for each week of class, these poems could serve as companions for someone going through the year.
I am very excited to work with the editors at BCP and be pressmates with the lovely poets Cate Lycurgus, John Paul Martinez, Joshua Nguyen, among others. More soon!
